Monday, August 5, 2024 –Sacked Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has joined hands with opposition leader Raila Odinga to call for amendments of the Constitution.
In his meeting with the opposition leader held at the Capitol Hill Nairobi today Monday August 5, the former Public Service Cabinet Secretary noted that, together with Mr. Odinga, they deliberated on the best ways to get the country from perennial leadership, governance and electoral challenges.
Kuria’s meeting with Odinga comes just days after he indicated his willingness to champion for the Constitutional changes so that to stabilise the country.
Speaking on the upcoming National Dialogue that will comprise various interest groups, Kuria said, the process which is supposed to be an all-inclusive will have to culminate into structural reforms as a lasting solution for the nation.
“This morning at Capitol Hill I held a meeting with my friend Rt Hon Raila Odinga. We discussed various issues facing the nation at the moment. I thanked Baba for bending backwards (Yet again) to save the country from self-destruction.
“We were unanimous that going forward we cannot continue to prescribe Panadol where surgery is required. The upcoming process of national dialogue MUST and Will culminate in deliberate structural reform for a lasting solution. We will work very, very closely in that endeavor as we continue to consult with other like-minded leaders,” stated Kuria today.
The Capitol Hill meeting coming hot on the heels of an escalated public discourse on the formation of National Unity government.
