Sunday, February 14, 2021 – Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi has officially rolled out his 2022 campaigns by promising to bring to an end the toxic political rivalry in the country.
The ex-United Nations Conference on Trade and Development UNCTAD Secretary general while responding to claims of project tag, clarified that he cannot be someone’s project because there is no one who can convince him on grounds of both merit and competitiveness.
He added that up to now, there was no politician in the country with bigger vission than his and therefore difficult to be under someone’s shadow. He called this destructive politics always common in the country anytime there is someone new whose ability is posing a challenge to the status quo.
“Label a project and give me any giant whose vision is bigger than mine. Upto now I don’t see any. So how can I be someone’s project?” he responded to Jeff Koinange’s question.
And when asked about the looming Referendum and BBI, the former Kimilili MP quickly distanced himself from such politics saying he was not part of it and cannot now be held responsible for its success or not.
Kenyan Mukhisa Kituyi officially stepped down as secretary-general of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) with confidence of succeeding outgoing Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kituyi who jetted back from Geneva Switzerland on Sunday joins the growing list of aspirants for the top job among them Deputy President William Ruto, ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
