Gachagua Subtly Peels Ruto Over Promise Lies

Saturday, September 7, 2024 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has joined the rest of the country in a national discourse about lies from leaders.

Speaking in Trans Nzoisa County on the viral discussion surrounding his boss President William Ruto, the DP told locals that he(Gachagua) doesn’t want to give them(locals) fake promises the way other leaders do.

Responding to a Member of County Assembly MCA who had requested him to speak about a untamacked road in the area, DP Gachagua said he is not ready to talk about it because he doesn’t want to be a liar.

In an indirect reference to his boss who has adversely been mentioned in many undelivered promises across the nation, Gachagua, speaking in Swahili dialect, noted that he does not want to fall in the same trap.

“I don’t want to lie to you. I can’t ascertain to you that I will bring money for that road. I don’t have the rightful information on how to get the funds for that project, as for now, until I check.

“I can still lie to you to be clapped for but I am not ready and that I don’t want to live that kind of life.

“We have to be honest all the time because we are all Christians. If I lie to you today so that you clap hands for me, and then I don’t deliver, next time when I come here you will heckle me,” confessed DP Gachagua in a video received on Kenyawide.com news desk.

The second in command said there are things he can do and things he has to first make a confirmation on the availability of money.

The DP, however, accepted that he will push to see the National Government support the County to supply power to the locals.

He was speaking this in the burial of Victor Gwaro Okioma whom he described as a great gentleman and amiable friend who he had known for the last 35 years.
