Monday, August 5, 2024 -Deputy President Rigathi Gachgua has accused the State of ‘marking him’.
Speaking on Inooro Kiririmbi show on Monday August 5 morning, the DP claimed that a bullet was days ago fired, instead of hitting his head, it landed on the bodyguard’s shoulder who is now nursing injuries.
He continued lamenting that the (bodyguard) was later admitted in Nairobi Hospital for a week where the bullet was removed.
In his account of what exactly took place on that day, the DP said he remains the main target in the shooting that is aimed at silencing him.
The DP also went on rampage accusing the current National Intelligence Service NIS boss Noordin Haji of orchestrating a scheme of trailing his every conversation with an aim of sharing with the president.
“I want to tell the DCI and NIS boss Noordin Haji to be very careful because what is happening now is similar to what happened in the last regime. Using intelligence apparatus for politics and to intimidate others. Right now, anyone who calls me must be recorded and anyone who comes close to me is asked what they are coming for, yet I am the deputy president,” added Gachagua.
And talking about his immense wealth, the DP he is privy to the ongoing online discussion surrounding his wealth and investments.
“I have today seen some people on social media platforms asking me questions; they’re asking about my wealth, that I bought this and that hotel, that this hotel is owned by my son, etc. I want to say this, if they have been in Kenya from 2019 to 2022, then they should have known everything about my wealth and how I made it,” noted the DP.
Currently, the DP is facing office challenges following the recent entry of the opposition in government where a number of ODM Party members were nominated to the new-look Cabinet.
