Thursday, February 4, 2021 -Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has explained why embattled Mike Sonko was not going to last in politics.
Leading a section of Kamba Region leadership, Governor Mutua on Thursday noted that the style of politics Mr. Sonko has been practicing all along could not go on for a longer time because he was not only too careless but also reckless.
He said Mr. Sonko is getting what he exactly asked for through his continuous rattling the government which has all the powers to cripple any noisy man anytime of the day.
Mutua further observed that Sonko had been cheated by his street following that he was above anyone else and could get away with any crime what has now landed him into deep trouble with the authorities.
“Over a period of time and I think he was misled to think that he can get away with anything because he’s been behaving the same way.
“He’s been doing the same things.
“He has been talking the same way for a period of time and he’s been rewarded not only by the state but also been rewarded by the voters,” he stated.
According to Dr. Mutua, the former Nairobi County boss was his own undoing who dug his own grave which he has sunk himself into.
“We have let him continue digging the hole for himself and I think his friends would have been able to tell him that you’re not following the law and that you’re going to get in trouble.” Mutua remarked.
He however made it clear that even as the matter is being handled by Courts, both sides must get justice a per the Constitution of Kenya.
