Friday, September 6, 2024 –Majority Leader in National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah has reignited their duel with Deputy President Rigatahi Gachgua.
Addressing a crowd in Rongai Nakuru County today Thursday September 5, the Kikiyu Member of Parliament argued that, he managed to handle President Uhuru Kenyatta single-handed and, therefore, the current DP is not anywhere close to Uhuru.
He added that managing to handle Uhuru then while he was the commander-in-chief was a big task but he succeeded.
“I fought Uhuru Kenyatta when I was just a mere Kikuyu MP, by you being close to President Ruto don’t think you can threaten me.
“If you like business of blackmailing both Ruto and his government, do not enjoin me because I am not ready to go that route. Sleep, wake up and look elsewhere not at me,” added MP Ichung’wah.
The Ruto ally also remarked that he is not ready to be part of those playing tribal politics where they feel other people from the rest of the communities do not deserve to be in government
“Don’t sell me fear. We are nolonger in the era of shareholding. You wanted to use public money to buy quick wealth and purchase hotels from Nakuru to Nyeri. You wanted to benefit alone but we have stopped you”.
Speaking on Hon. Raila Odinga joining the Kenya Kwanza administration, the Majority boss noted that the opposition is part of this country and there is no harm or crime in enjoining them in this government.
“No one should disturb us because we brought in Raila. Raila joined because he is a Kenyan like any other.
“Yes, we won last election as a small team but when it comes to serving the nation, everyone must be involved and counted,” he added.
Ichungwah, a close confidant of the president, was saying these days after a highly-hyped Nyanza tour that saw Gachagua take issue with a section of leaders who, seemingly, were not alive to the fact that Mt. Kenya played a big role in electing Ruto.
Gachagua blasted them saying the Mt. Kenya Region has many positions in government because it earned it from the amount of votes it contributed to the current government.
