Thursday, August 8, 2024 –New-look Cabinet was finally unveiled today Thursday with opposition officially assuming part of the Cabinet.
Nineteen Cabinet members were unveiled and sworn into office by President William Ruto in an event that took place at the Statehouse Nairobi early in the morning.
Former National Assembly member and also ODM Party Chair, John Mbadi saw a drastic change in his crew as his vehicle was quickly fitted with the National flag. It simplified his new role in the government and especially in the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.
Mbadi officially takes over from Njuguna Ndung’u being part of the opposition team that has officially joined the current administration following the handshake between Azimio leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.
The two leaders have, not once, told their supporters that they did not enter into any coalition agreement and that the opposition’s decision to work with government was based on individuals who are joining the government.
This move has seen the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition decent into wrangles with Martha Karua deciding to officially quit the formation.
She wrote a withdrawal letter to notify the coalition boss of her intention to quit and run her Narc-Kenya Party.
