Tuesday, March 9, 2021 -Stubborn Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has poured cold water on the just concluded Raila Odinga’s five day tour at the Coast.
The Governor has once more expressed his desire to have their regional Party and completely ditch ODM.
He reiterated these remarks while addressing Vipingo residents in Kilifi yesterday Monday March 8 during the marking of the International Women Day. He affirmed that plans to have their own party were going on and that no body will be stopping that course.
He consequently faulted Raila Odinga for slamming them over the plans to have a political party and said staying in ODM was nolonger any of their remaining options.
“Some people are asking me why I never pushed for a regional political outfit in the last 15 years I have been a member of ODM. That is akin to a landlord asking you to continue renting his house. I have rented ODM house for 15 years, they are unhappy that I want to build my own house,” he said.
DP William Ruto’s top ally Aisha Jumwa, also Malindi MP, supported Kingi’s sentiments saying that was the future of their region.
“Be careful with them. Today, they are with you, tomorrow they are with Joho. I support what I believe in and I want to assure you that,” said Aisha.
Mr. Kingi has been on the forefront rallying fellow Coastal Regional leaders to move towards the same direction if they wanted to achieve ‘political freedom’.
