Sunday, March 14, 2021-News about the death of one half of the Longombas hit the country and all the music entertainment industry went into a wild mourning.
Christian Longomba breathed his last on Saturday March 13 while undergoing treatment at a facility in Los Angeles US where they relocated to several years ago.
The Longombas duo took the Kenyan music industry by storm with several chart-busters and club bangers like Dondosa and Vuta Pumz in mid-2000’s before they volunteered to vanish from the limelight.
When asked by Wily Tuva why they had to relocate from Kenya at the height of their music career, the duo mentioned that they had no more local challenge left for them in Kenya and therefore they had to move out to see the world.
“We had reached at the peak of our music career and there was no more challenge in Kenya. We liked being challenged so we had to relocate. I started and my brother Christian followed me later to the US,” Lovi stated.
The talent used to be unique both in style and vocals. They were talented with mellow voices and hot dance moves that kept their fans glued on the screens anytime they appeared. Their shows were always filled by Kapuka lovers.
Unfortunately, while in the US, they seemed to have forgotten music or maybe they tried but it didn’t work. Shortly, Christian Longomba fell sick with Brain tumor. He was successfully operated as his brother Lovi went full time into gospel; and this time around it was not about singing but ministering the Word of God.
He actually got saved in 2013 or thereabout. He turned Prophet Lovi by launching a prayer group with friends in his living room before it expanded into a fully-fledged church.
Today, the secular-turned-gospel preacher can nolonger shake his waste. Anytime you meet him, he is armed with the Bible from morning to the evening. He actually runs a church in California called Revelations Ministries.
