Tuesday, October 1, 2024 –Nyali Constituency Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali now wants Mombasa Governor and Mombasa executive committee (CEC) for Lands and Urban Planning Mohamed Hussein charged over a matter in which a local blogger was assaulted.
Addressing in a Monday September 30 video clip Kenyawide.com has received on its news desk, MP Mohamed aka Jicho Pevu said, sexually assaulting a young blogger over his utterances is illegal and the perpetrators ought to be punished as per the law.
He issued an ultimatum to the office of DCI asking it to move with speed and apprehend Governor Abdulswamad Nassir, his mother and CEC Hussein who were adversely mentioned by the victim for having planned and funded his ugly abduction.
Mohamed said, even the Muslim teachings do not allow anyone to do what happened to the blogger to leave him nursing body injuries in hospital.
“I hear there is a boy who has been sodomised. You sodomise and harm a 21-year boy while recording the events?
“Even our own religion of Muslim cannot allow this. What kind of society is this?” MP Moha posed.
He lamented that the boy was assaulted because he comes from a poor background and, therefore, this requires justice to be served and the culprits brought to book.
“If this boy was from a wealthy family, this would not have taken place. So we are not going to keep quiet on this matter just because the young man is not connected,” he added while poking holes into the current Mombasa leadership.
But speaking on the matter, Governor Abdulswamad distanced himself from the crime saying it is wrong to link him and his 70-year-old mother to a crime of that magnitude.
“The truth will soon be out. This is a very trying moment to me and my family. I have been in politics for a decade and above and, throughout my life nor of any family member, have we ever crossed the line of meting any form of violence on anyone. My stand is known to yourselves,” he stated.
The first time governor said those calling for his arrest are politically instigated and wants to see him out of office so that they can take over Mombasa.
He however, indicated his willingness to volunteer himself to the police so that he can give his version of the scenes.
The politician added that this is being deemed for public perception that his family would be part and parcel of the heinous act.
