In his bid to sell Deputy President William Ruto’s Hustler tag in Machakos County, former Senator Johnstone Muthama had to run for his dear life after angry youth stopped him from preaching DP’s word in the area.
News reaching Homenew.co.ke indicated that when Mr. Muthama stopped to talk about the now famous but equally controversial 2022 Hustlers tag, hecklers poured on the streets to chase his away with stones.
Video doing round shows his cars being pelted with stones as he ran away from the Tala stop over bringing his day’s activities to a sudden stop.
Muthama who was a Raila Odinga staunch supporter in 2013 and 2017/18 campaigns recently switched camps citing betrayal and instead vowed to sell Ruto’s presidential ambitions saying he(DP) would make a better leader than Mr. Raila Odinga and Kenyatta. He is also opposed to both handshake and calls for a referendum.
Sources say, Muthama was accompanied by former Kakamega senator Dr. Boni Khalwale but both could go no further with their plans to preach Ruto’s gospel in Tala town.
“Usitaje Ruto hapa, sisi si hustlers,” a resident shouted at Muthama as others joined in condemning the two DPs allies.
But reacting on the same, Muthama and Khalwale termed such news as propaganda saying that the chaotic scenes witnessed at the venue were caused by three disorderly men who were immediately overpowered by their supporters.
Muthama said the three men became violent forcing their forces to repulse them through roughing them away.
