One police officer is undergoing treatment after he was slashed with a sharp panga at MP Oscar Sudi’s Kapsaret home; while another sustained gunshot wounds.
According to police reports by Citizen Digital, there was a standoff between law enforcers and Oscar’s supporters who had refused to pave way and open the gate for entry of officers when the police finally managed to go through the fence.
It was reported that there was huge numbers of rowdy youth who had barricaded roads leading to Sudi’s compound but officers gained entry through the alternative route during which one of them was slashed on the right thumb by a civilian.
Gunshots then rented the air with another officer sustaining gunshot wound on both his right and left shoulder.
“A search was conducted in the residence but unfortunately, the MP had already fled. On further search within the compound and the parking lot, a spent cartridge of 9mm, one for 7.62mm and a panga were recovered,” police accounted.
“The team left the residence at around 6:30am in pursue of the MP at his Elgon View Estate home and he was also not found,” added the police report.
On Sunday morning, the MP finally bowed to pressure and walked to the nearby Langas Police Station ending a 48 hour standoff.
He was accompanied by his Lawyer who is also Uasin Gishu woman Rep Gladys Boss Shollei among other DP William Ruto close allies.
