Pope Francis remains hospitalized at Agostino Gemelli Hospital in Rome with double pneumonia but continues to observe Lent, receiving Holy Communion and ashes from his hospital room on Wednesday, while staying engaged in global affairs, including a solidarity call to a priest in Gaza.
The Vatican has confirmed that the Pope is undergoing both oxygen and physical therapy to aid in his recovery and prevent further complications.
His hospitalization comes after experiencing respiratory crises earlier in the week, though, doctors say his condition remains stable.
