Wednesday, June 2, 2021 -Raila Odinga’s lavish home in Kisumu saw top dignitaries flock there for lunch after the Tuesday 58th Madaraka Day celebrations held in the county.
Raila who was the man of the day first took the President around the county launching projects before the day for Madakara. However, it has also emerged that hours to Madaraka celebrations, Odinga hosted Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Minister Linduswe Sisulu from South Africa, KANU Secretary General Nick Salat and former Funyula MP Paul Otuoma.
They converged at Raila’s ‘Statehouse’ as it is always referred to by locals. It is located at Kanyakwar on Riat Hills overlooking Kisumu International Airport. It was constructed by the Chinese who used locals on the construction site.
According to Who Owns Kenya WoK, the multi billion complex mansion has 3 large size living rooms, 10 large bedrooms, four massive ketches, 2 spacious conference rooms and private offices. Further in the house is Odinga’s address which has an Olympic size swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a helipad for two choppers. This complex structure took the contractors 9 years to complete.
