Thursday, August 29, 2024 –Willing Kenyans have been urged to apply for vacancies in various independent agencies.
President William Ruto, in an official notice dated August 29, appointed selection panels to recruit new commissioners for four Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices.
He opened the doors to leadership in four critical independent bodies – Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), and the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC).
This is due to the fact that the current leadership of these bodies nears the end of their six-year, non-renewable terms.
A notice issued by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei on Thursday, 29 August, outlines the need for a smooth transition within these institutions.
The Chief of Staff Mr Koskei emphasised that the president encourages all eligible Kenyans to respond to the “clarion call to serve the nation.”
The notice, however, did not specify deadlines for when the positions would be filled. Those departing office include Lyn Mengich, Chairperson of the SRC, and Anne Makori, Chairperson of the IPOA.
