Thursday, August 8, 2024 –Newly-sworn in Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya has promised to adhere to the Constitution when discharging her duty.
Following her swearing in today Thursday August 8, Ms Tuya said, she will be undertaking the Defence docket duty with honour so that to help President William Ruto deliver and protect the nation.
“I am forever grateful for unending grace & favor… Thank you HE President of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto for the privilege to serve this great country as Cabinet Secretary, Defence… To the People of Kenya, I promise servant leadership; I will obey, respect and uphold the Constitution of Kenya and all other laws of this Country; I undertake to hold my office of Cabinet Secretary with honour and dignity… I will perform the functions of my office conscientiously and to the best of my ability…,” she wrote a statement which was shared with the media.
On the other hand, Sports and Culture Cabinet Secretary Cs Kipchumba Murkomen stated that the journey to change the sports outlook in the country started today.
He committed himself to promoting the welfare and potential of youth across the country so that to keep the name of this country on global map.
“Honoured and grateful to have today started the journey of serving our great nation in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports. I am deeply committed to promoting the welfare and potential of our youth, fostering creativity, and advancing our sports industry. I pledge to serve diligently and with unwavering accountability. Together, we will build a vibrant, dynamic, and inclusive future for our youth and our nation,” Wrote CS Murkomen.
Tuya has replaced Aden Duale in the Ministry of Defence as Murkomen takes over from Ababu Namwamba who was sacked home weeks ago.
Aden Duale has since been mandated to run the environment office.
