Thursday, May 26, 2022 –President Uhuru Kenyatta responded in style to his deputy who had wished him a peaceful retirement after serving the country for two terms.
During the National Annual Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park Hotel Nairobi today Thursday May 26, Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto met again alongside Azimio la Umoja running mate, Martha Karua.
Ruto used the prayer opportunity to urge President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive him if he ever fell short of what was expected of him.
“I may have fallen short as DP to my boss and good friend pres. Kenyatta, I ask for your forgiveness,” DP Ruto said.
The DP went ahead no confess that he was privileged to have worked with Mr. Kenyatta for a period of two terms and that was a history he would not like to forget or take lightly.
“I have had the privilege of serving as DP to my friend Uhuru; as you head to retirement, may God give you every aspiration of your heart,” DP Ruto remarked.
And taking to the podium, President Kenyatta simply said he would hope to enjoy his retirement as per the wishes of his deputy Ruto.
“I do hope the prayers of DP Ruto on my retirement come true, I’m looking forward to peace and enjoyment in the years to come,” said President Uhuru.
The function was organized by both the National Assembly and the Senate.
