Wednesday, December 15, 2021 – Babu Owino has promised to buy an apartment for the family of Mr. Felix Orinda or Dj Evolve over attempted murder charges which have since been withdrawn.
The Member of Parliament, according to the Tuesday December 14 ruling, will also have to pay the medical bills and all expenses of the victim.
“As a condition of withdrawal, the MP will purchase an apartment for the victim, which will resolve the issue of house rent, and continue paying the hospital bills of the victim who comes from a humble background,” said Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.
The magistrate noted that after the victim is bought the house, it will be easier for him to take care of his own financial challenges going forward. This will also lessen Family’s burden.
The court heard on Tuesday that the MP has been taking care of Dj Evolve’s medication including paying for the services of a personal medical specialist from Nairobi Hospital.
Orinda or Dj Evolve comes from a humble background and if left on his own may not be able to pay any of his bills now that he is also down.
MP Babu Owino was on Tuesday acquitted after the victim made an official request to have the case withdrawn; what saw the magistrate acquit him from any wrong doing.
Mr. Ochoi confirmed that all the welfare of the victim seemed to have been considered by the accused person and therefore no need to press further charges on him.
“I will allow the request to withdraw the charges against the accused in count one – attempted murder. He is acquitted,” said the magistrate.
Owino will however remain with the second count in which he is charged with behaving badly in a disorderly manner while carrying a weapon. This charge can only be withdrawn by the DPP.
