Friday, January 8, 2021 -United Democratic Alliance UDA, a newly formed DP William Ruto party, has picked on Bishop Margret Wanjiru to fly their flag for the highly awaited Nairobi race.
Though from excitement this makes Tangatanga family a very happy lot just because and perhaps they think they are settling scores against their parent party Jubilee which has since spit them out like a bad smell in the room, but the fact is Margret Wanjiru may not take them very far.
“Congratulations Hon Bishop Margaret Wanjiru for landing the coveted nominee for United Democratic Alliance for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Nairobi. The UDA Chairman & I are confident that u will bring all the communities & stakeholders of Nairobi into our fold,” Khalwale tweeted on Friday Jan 8th.

Wanjiru, no doubt, is a cool City televangelist, vocal and fashionable lady at the pulpit, but on the political front, analysts would tell you this was a big misstep on the part of the Deputy President William Ruto who has been synonymous with making wise decisions when it comes to picking strong candidates in any given political contest.
It is also possible that Ruto could have been misled by Mr. Johnson Muthama who is said to be the official Chairperson of the new UDA Party and who reportedly engineered its registration. Muthama as usual is known to force some ideas in any party he joins due to both his personality and heavy pockets.
When he was in Wiper, Kalonzo Musyoka himself revealed how the Machakos politician used to mislead him in supporting wrong presidential candidates every other electioneering period. Muthama, however, would later laugh off such remarks wondering if he was the one who also sent Kalonzo into Jubilee Party this time around. Anyway, what befell Kalonzo can also be repeated on Ruto.
It goes without saying that even if Mwalimu Abduba Didda stood against the bishop today, he will beat her by early 8AM not unless Ruto is doing this for other reasons other than political mileage.
