Thursday, June 6, 2024 –Member of Parliament Dan Maanzo now claims that President William Ruto’s support for Raila Odinga had irked his deputy, Rigathi Gachgua.
Speaking on the media today Thursday June 6 morning. The Wiper Party MP noted that Rigtahi Gachagua did not like his boss teaming up with Odinga in anything political or business.
He added that this, has seen Gachagua become angry at Ruto despite the fact that government agreed to support Odinga’s African Union ACU campaigns.
“The perception that the government is helping Raila in his AUC Chairmanship has annoyed DP Rigathi Gachagua and some of his people. President William Ruto, as a smart politician, therefore, has given his deputy a hint that his running mate in 2027 will definitely be a lady,” MP Maanzo noted today.
His remarks coming at a time cracks between Gachagua and his boss William Ruto has played out in the public with the two openly contradicting each other on matters leadership.
A week ago, as the DP read a riot act against Rift Valley MPs crisscrossing the country in the name of philanthropy, his boss William Ruto speaking during the 61st Madaraka Day event in Bungoma, sharply contradicted the deputy by siding with the MPs.
Ruto asked MPs to ignore orders from anyone else and go round the nation working for the people who elected them to office.
Additionally, Ruto is supporting Odinga’s AUC bid and that the government is funding the entire campaigns; what his deputy has not shown interest in.
Their fallout seemingly reaching its peak early days of their first tern in office.
