Sunday, July 31, 2022 –Kenya Kwanza-allied politicians are in a protest following the disrespectful arrest of their ally, Mumias East Member of Parliament Benjamin Washiali, in Kakamega.’
Washiali on Saturday July 30 afternoon, while inspecting Bukhungu Stadium venue ahead of their Sunday mega rally to be presided over by Deputy President William Ruto, was seen engaged in an ugly 15-minuite long drama.
The DP’s Western Region point man who is not vying for anything this round, was on Saturday captured in the said video being bundled into a police land cruiser but resisted with the help of his defiant bodyguards.
It started when he differed with County Government askaris, before he forced his way into the ground what immediately led into a commotion between him and the askaris forcing the police to quickly come in to reinforce the situation.
Allies of the DP led by Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany have since castigated the government for unleashing terror on Kenya Kwanza team members ahead of the elections.
“Mheshimiwa we shall overcome soon,” Koistany wrote.
On his part, Lawyer Nelson Havi pulled a tribal card saying this is a war between Luos and Luhyas ahead of the elections.
“For any Luhya who still wants to be convinced that he/she has no place in ODM, this is more than enough reason. A Luhya elected leader being tortured in Kakamega Town by Police Officers on the instructions of ODM top leadership to curtail his freedom of association,” he commented.
DP Ruto is having a mega rally at the Bukhungu Stadium today Sunday July 31.
