Sunday, March 26, 2023 –President William Ruto has left the country in the hands of his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, hours to Azimio la Umoja mass protests scheduled tomorrow March 27.
Azimio brigade will be pouring on the streets tomorrow morning, this being their second phase of anti-government protests which the police have already described as illegal.
Official Sunday communique from the Statehouse updated that President Ruto will be touring European nations, Germany and Belgium in an exercise that will take him atleast four days outside the country.
The Standard reported on Sunday March 26 morning that, according to a statement by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, the president will hold bilateral talks with German leaders, and also give a keynote speech.
“President William Ruto will depart the country today, Sunday 26th March 2023 for a four-day visit to the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Belgium, respectively,” Hussein’s statement reads in part.
Furthermore, Hussein siad that the president’s trip will focus on ‘renewable energy, green industrialization, and trade.
These talks are aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“The president will also give a keynote address at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, outlining the challenges of energy security amidst the worsening climate crisis and the push for investments in renewable energy,” Hussein went on.
The Kenya’s head of State is also required to discuss youth matters in both vocational education and training in line with his plan to reduce increasing unemployment in the country.
