ednesday January 13, 2021 -It is official Jubilee Party will not field any candidate in the three forthcoming by-elections across the country.
Addressing the media at Jubilee Headquarters in Pangani Nairobi on Wednesday January 13, Secretary General Raphael Tuju explained that this decision is in accordance with the bigger picture of the existing relationship between NASA affiliate parties that previously held the seats.
By-elections are scheduled in Matungu, Kabuchai and Machakos Constituencies all which Deputy President William Ruto has already shown interest through his newly formed outfit United Democratic Alliance UDA which they unveiled just a few days ago.
“It is the decision of the Jubilee party that given the bigger picture of bringing this country together through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) avenue ceding ground to the NASA parties is essential to ensuring that we do not open unnecessary arenas for conflicts with our very able partners in the BBI, ” Tuju announced.
In Matungu Constituency, ANC Party held the parliamentary position through the late Justus Murunga while in Kabuchai the area MP was Mr. Mukwe Lusweti of Ford Kenya which is led by Mosses Wetang’ula
And in Machakos, the senatorial seat was previously held by Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party member Boniface Kabaka who died on December 11, 2020.
While weighing on the Nairobi gubernatorial race which was slated February 18, Tuju noted that their Party Jubilee was on standby mode waiting for the court’s verdict following the recent suspension of the by-election.
