Friday, August 13, 2021 -Lawmakers have asked the State to put up for them a new ultra-modern gym and other modern recreational facilities
They have, among other ambiences on the demand sheet, enlisted massage spar, steam bath and sauna which they want installed in the House as soon as possible.
They have taken their war to the Parliamentary Service Commission PSC which they have asked to expedite the implementations so as to improve on their legislative role. They argued that this will make the service delivery in the House alot easier.
In the demand list seen by Homenews.coke, the legislators also want the current steam bath and saunas replaced with imported ones.
The Parliamentary Committee which is led by Ezekiel Machogu has also asked the commission to do extra refurbishment and expansion of barber, salons and massage rooms.
It has also asked the commission to allow hiring of youthful staffers who knows how to massage as well as well as to make hair and haircuts; they will act as masseurs and reflexologists. All those who will be lucky to work there will be hired on a five year contract.
Further, according to the report seen by us, the committee has recommended that air conditioners must be replaced with hyper filters for ample working environment in Parliament.
In bathrooms, there will be fitted modern gypsum, shower heads and Muslim friendly toilets. There will be internet at the reception and fitted electric controlled doors all over.
“The Parliamentary Service Commission should establish a Parliamentary Health Unit within the Parliament with clinical and public health sections and a health club,” the committee also stated in its report.
The said health center was shut down a few months ago due to Covid-19 surge in the country with several cases of patients reported in Parliament.
