Tuesday, May 3, 2022 –Kenya Kwanza team has fired at President Uhuru Kenyatta for sabotaging the office of the Deputy President.
Led by Kiharu lawmaker Ndindi Nyoro, the faction today laid bare all the sufferings they have been going through in Jubilee Government hands.
They asked the Head of State to be considerate and stop attacking the DP because a lot had happened to the second in command in silence.
“There are a lot of things we are not speaking out including budgetary allocation for the DP which was completely stopped. Ruto buys his own tea and fuels his own cars,” MP Nyoro claimed.
Speaking this in Murang’a County on Tuesday May 3 afternoon, the visibly angry Nyoro added that they are holding on to a lot of things and time is coming when they will be forced to explode.
He took issue with the president for delegating all DP’s roles to junior government staff so that to undermine the office of the DP.
“Mr. President we are telling you to come very slowly. Do not provoke us as we are already angry over the high cost of living from the hiked prices of fertilizers and fuel.
“I want Kenyans to know that the government has been disrespectful towards the DP but we don’t announce everything to the public,” an angry Ndindi noted.
In a blow by blow account, the MP further disclosed that Ruto funds his activities from his own pocket what is against the Constitution.
“I want President Uhuru to tell Kenyans the truth that even after taking the duties of the DP and apportioning the same to other officers, he went ahead to [revoke the DP’s benefits]. When the DP is traveling around even on official duties, he fuels his cars, which is something the public is not aware of,” Nyoro added but failed to explain which official duties the DP is still attending to when they have been complaining that Ruto nolonger has a role in Government.
Nyoro went on to state that the amount of suffering meted upon the DP is beyond humanity and this is part of the oppression Uhuru had decided to unload against his own deputy.
“The president has mistreated his DP to the point of not picking his calls, revoking benefits such as fueling his cars and accompaniments at his office, not greeting him in public. If you’re not picking his calls, how can the DP reach you?” he posed.
During the just ended Labour Day celebrations, Uhuru went blunt on his DP accusing him of disrespect; what Ruto responded quickly to saying Uhuru is to blame himself for the current situation in the country.
