Wednesday, June 29, 2022 –Singer Kevin Kioko Bahati has now revealed that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has a hand in his defiance over Mathare Constituency contest.
Addressing the issue on Wednesday June 29 on Radio Citizen, the Mtoto wa Mama singer told his host that Kalonzo was fully in support of his candidature in Mathare and that he had already prevailed upon their other Wiper candidate, Ben Malili, to step down for him(Bahati).
He further claimed that Kalonzo convened a meeting at his Karen residence to talk to the two candidates; what culminated into a Bahati candidature in Mathare area because he is the strongest than the other.
“I feel more at home in Mathare not Mbooni where I come from, the people here understand me just as I do them. I want to serve them and that is the reason I have refused to drop my parliamentary ambitions,” he explained.
He accused Orange Democratic Movement ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna of using unorthodox ways to force him to step down for the incumbent, Anthony Oluoch.
“Many people have called me, offering me as much as Ksh50 million so that I can step down. Nonetheless, I tuned them down, because these people who will steal from the residents once they get elected,” he disclosed.
He now believes that the Azimio La Umoja Chief Cabinet Secretary-designate, Kalozo Musyoka, will help solve this impasse but even if it doesn’t happen to go his way, he will still soldier on upto the ballot.
Bahati severed ways with Jubilee rulling Party when they withdrew his nomination certificate to pave way for the ODM candidate MP Oluoch whom he has described, not once, as a failed leader who cannot improve lives around the slum.
