Wednesday, June 14, 2023 –A young man from Nakuru who picked 60,000 shillings in a bar during last Arsenal game refused to return the money to the owner despite all the evidence pointing at him.
The owner of the cash Mr. Suleiman said he came with sh 60,000 in the club to watch the Arsenal match; adding that the cash was part of the school fees for his daughter who is supposed to report back to school this Monday May 8.
“Myself I do not drink but I like watching football in clubs with my friends. I don’t see anything wrong with that.
“I had sh 60,000 which I had just withdrawn from Equity Bank. It was to pay part of my daughter’s school fees but lost it in the club.
“I really do not know if I was pickpocketed or the cash fell on the floor while I was pulling out my mobile phone,” he said.
On trying to find out, it would, minutes later, be established through CCTV footage that a waiter who works there had picked the money and hidden it.
What then happened was, the owner just said “it’s okay” and walked away. This did not take long and the rogue waiter came back with the money next day wailing in pain.
He was also confessing and asking for forgiveness. Whatever was happening to him he knows himself but seems he was being haunted by some unseen forces.
