Friday, August 9, 2024 –Businessman-cum-politician Jimi Wanjigi has asked President William Ruto to learn to separate politics from family matters.
Speaking today Friday moments after Anti-Terror Police ATP raided his Muthaiga home, Wanjigi noted with concern that the current administration was taking politics too serious to a point of including children and his wife.
He reminisced seven years ago when a similar incident occurred at his home saying, it has been made a culture for every regime that get to power.
“Seven years ago right on this steps, we were attacked for three days and now its two days for expressing our political rights as part of democracy.
“My father said one day, differentiate politics from family. Distinguish between the personal issues and politics. Don’t bring the fight to homes of people” stated Wanjigi.
Wanjigi accused the State of forcing themselves into his home without any valid court order and assaulting the family for things they little know about.
“Differentiate politics from our homes. What do my wife and kids have to do with the politics out there.”
“You have assaulted my family because of expressing myself as per article 37 of the Right to Demonstrate,” added the businessman.
“You have assaulted my wife and children. The police assaulted them and you have stolen and vandalized my home. What does that have to do with politics out there. This is my home and my children,” further charged Wanjigi.
Today, saw police camp at the businessman’s Muthaiga homestead, broke into his house where they made away with various items which they claimed were part of exhibits of his involvement in the Gen Zs protests.
