Monday, January 31, 2022 –a Larger section Western Kenya leaders have unanimously agreed never to recognize Musalia Mudavadi as their official spokesperson.
Speaking during their consultative meeting which was held at Golf Hotel in Kakamega Town on Monday January 31, the leaders slammed Amani National Congress Party leader for abandoning their community without consulting some of them.
They wondered how a man who had been fully mandated by the community to champion for their political and leadership interests had auctioned the community for a penny without thinking about millions of people who trusted him.
On his part, Central Organization of Trade Union COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli observed that Mudavadi’s move was ill informed and that soon he will be regretting.
“Right now, Muthama is trending. Just after Musalia declared that they (Kenya Kwanza) are yet to decide among themselves (who will be the presidential candidate), Muthama said that they (Mudavadi and Wetang’ula) only joined UDA as friends,” Atwoli remarked.
He claimed that Musalia and Wetang’ula went to Ruto to beg for a political coalition; no wonder they will not being accorded any respect in their newly formed Kenya Kwanza Coalition.
“He (Muthama) declared that there was no agreement. The Chairman of UDA has already thrown him out. Those are the shortcomings of begging. Where will they go now?” Atwoli chided.
Atwoli also faulted William Ruto for dividing their region and using the situation to fire insults at elected leaders, what he described as complete lack of respect.
“Tell William Samoei Ruto to stop insulting leaders. He even has the guts to look down upon me, your leader. Let me tell you, if he calls for any meeting in Kakamega, do not go!” Atwoli reprimanded.
The vocal unionist together with other leaders who have since decamped from ANC to the newly formed DAP- Kenya Party promised to lock their region intact so that to make sure Musalia and his new-found ally DP Ruto never get any vote from there.
They also thanked Deputy President William Ruto for relieving them the baggage of Musalia which they claimed had dragged their region behind for so long.
