Friday, August 26, 2022 –Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai is sick and has taken an emergency leave from office starting today.
In a Friday August 26 afternoon official statement, the IG said his deputy Noor Gabow will be taking over his duties until that time when he will be back in office.
Though he did not detail what he is ailing from, the IG disclosed that his medical doctors had advised him to seek an immediate treatment.
“I will be away from the office attending to a medical checkup effective today – August 26 2022.
“In my absence, Mr Noor Gabow, the Deputy Inspector General – Administration Police Service, will act as the Inspector General of the National Police Service until my return,” the brief note read.
He is taking a medical leave at the time the country needed him most since elections are still going on around the country.
Kakamega, Mombasa and other six more areas will be conducting their elections on Monday August 29; and if the Supreme Court will annul the William Ruto’s election, there could be a possibility of a repeat exercise.
