Tuesday, February 9, 2021 -Storm is brewing in Deputy President William Ruto’s party following an appointment of Odinga’s man as the secretary general of the newly formed United Democratic Alliance Party UDA.
The DP while at the Coast announced that the Kilifi North Member of Parliament Mr. Owen Baya will be their first secretary general what has since created alot of heat with a section of his membership who still believe Mr. Baya could be Odinga’s active mole.
Owen is an ODM elected MP and whom Mr. Ruto seems to be quickly entrusting with a lot to run the affairs of their party.
The MP reportedly ditched Odinga to join Ruto’s Tangatanga team ahead of the general elections with an assumption that he will share a lot of experience with UDA Party at the Coast.
While speaking about this, Baya termed it a big honor to work for the DP in that capacity saying it was a sign that Ruto has confidence in him.
“It is a big honour for the DP to see me worthy to serve as UDA Secretary-General. It is a sign of confidence in my ability. It is a challenge I am willing to take,” Baya stated on Saturday.
But word has it that many party members are not comfortable working with Baya whom they have termed a mole from ODM.
