Tuesday, December 5, 2023 – Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakango today Tuesday pleaded guilty in court and was freed on a sh 500,000 cash bail. The magistrate also gave her a sh 2 million bond following fraud charges she is accused of since 2016 by a private complainant. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 –Detectives have arrested Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o over alleged public complaints. The State official was arrested in Mombasa for complaints filed against her in 2016 with her arrest having been confirmed by the Deputy Director of Public Prosecution, Jacinta Nyamosi. The Controller of Budget is accused among eleven others who are set to face charges bordering on fraud and operating unlicensed SACCO.
