Tuesday, October 24, 2023 – Fake lawyer Brian Mwenda has claimed that he heavily participated in campaigns of Law Society of Kenya LSK President Eric Theuri.
In an affidavit filed in court by his lawyer Danstan Omari, Brian states that he was among the frontliners in Theuri’s campaigns when he was vying to succeed his predecessor Lawyer Nelson Havi.
Arguing that Theuri and Vice President LSK Faith Odhiambo should not be allowed to run the case against him, Brian says in his court papers that allowing the two will see them attempt to block him from revealing top secrets he knows about them.
The accused faulted the Law Society of Kenya LSK’s heavy involvement in the case and, instead, said that the mandate to investigate and prosecute cases should be a prerogative of the National Police Service NPS and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions ODPP.
Mwenda also says that Theuri was his close friend and who could, not once but in several instances, come to bail him together with friends from police cells anytime they had been arrested driving home or drunk.
“In the unlikely event that I am put on defence, I may be calling both of them in this case as my defense witnesses,” Mr. Mwenda said.
He argues, therefore, that these are some of the things the LSK leadership does not want to allow counter-prosecuted in court.
Brian under former governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was, on Monday October 23, freed on a cash bail of sh 200,000.
He is accused of faking documents to practice law in the country something he has already pleaded not guilty before the magistrate courts.
In a rejoinder affidavit now with the court, Mr. Mwenda has denied all the accusations leveled against him saying they are all baseless and dismissed the arguments that he evaded being arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI detectives.
