Thursday, February 8, 2024 –Kakamega-based businessman Cleophas Toto Shimanyula has dared Senator Boni Khalwale to go on with the suit over the perceived malicious remarks he(Shimanyula) uttered against him.
Addressing the media from Kakamega Town where he lives, Toto accused Mr. Khalwale of plotting to attack him at night and burn his cars.
“He had come with people to ban my cars and attack me. He thinks my quietness is a defeat. He says I never went to school but I want to tell him that I went to school well and that is why I am an engineer.
“Unlike him, I have employed over 700 persons from around, but for him, his education only helped him marry seven wives,” Shimanyula stated.
On paternity of Khalwale’s kids, the businessman claimed this can only be determined through paternity tests like DNA and not street threats.
He also waded into pirvate family matters by seeking to know why the senator handed the family baton to younger son instead of the elder one who was also present in the recent event.
“Do DNA please. Why did you give the small boy the baton when you have an elder son who deserved it?” he added.
Toto, therefore, dared the politician to expedite taking him to any court including the Hague where justice will finally be declared.
He noted that he was more than willing to argue his case before any judge and, if he wins, he will also demand a compensation similar to what the complainant is asking for.
Asked whether he was being used to fight local political wars, the tycoon said he is way above being hired by anybody.
Yesterday Wednesday February 7, Senator Khalwale hired Nairobi Lawyer Danstan Omari to represent him in court against the businessman.
In the High Court papers seen by this writer, the politician demanded a whopping sh 200 million together with a public apology from the businessman or a total of sh 500 million in damages at the conclusion of the matter.
