Friday, October 21, 2022 –Kipchumba Murkomen’s past attacks on Lawyer Miguna Miguna have come back to haunt him.
For instance in 2018 when Miguna Miguna was being sedated and bundled out of the country following the purported mock swearing in of Raila Odinga, among the first individuals to support his deportation was the now Roads and Transport Cabinet Minister nominee, Kipchumba Murkomen, a close ally of William Ruto.
Kenyans have quickly reminded the new CS nominee how he cannot distance himself from Miguna Miguna’s dramatic deportation of 2018.
“There is a time CS Kipchumba Murkomen termed Miguna Miguna as a threat to the country, justified his deportation,” observed Mr. Abuga Makori.
Social media has been awash with the old KTN News clip in which Murkomen bragged on live Tv interview how their government led by Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto cannot condone a security threat from an individual who can easily be isolated through deportation so the rest of the country could remain safe.
“You people are forgetting the bigger issue. President Uhuru Kenyatta has a greater responsibility of ensuring that the rule of law is maintained in this country,” he charged.
He would go on saying the best and easy option for the nation was to clean the country by getting rid of small issues from an individual.
“The bigger picture is to keep the country going. If there is a conflict between small issues of one individual, when an individual is a threat to the rights of 45 million people, you cannot subject one individual’s rights to threaten those of more people,” he responded to KTN News‘ Sophia Wanuna.
This is in contrast with what he has been saying of recent accusing the former government of having unfairly deported Miguna Miguna.
Miguna returned home yesterday Thursday October 20 through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA.
