Sunday, May 19, 2024 -Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has responded to both Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Prime Cabinet Secretary CS Musalia Mudavadi recent utterances.
Addressing their recent calls for respect, Natembeya today Sunday May 19, has explained himself saying respect is two way and sought to know why the two Luhya leaders boast of many years in government and yet they have done nothing toungible for their community.
“They are telling me to keep quiet and respect them because they have been in government for over fifty years together. They do not understand that I have no problem with that. What I am asking is, what have they used their years in government to do to this community,” Natembeya posed.
He added that he has no personal differences with the two purported kingpins and he should not be condemned for asking pertinent questions that requires answers for the entire Luhya community.
Governor Natembeya also told those threatening him with death that he is ready to carry on with his quest for sound Luhya leadership despite the threats.
He disclosed that some people have told him that he will be assassinated by a hitman on bodaboda if he doesn’t stop the noise.
But the Trans Nzoia County boss wondered whether killing him will see his remaining years added to the killer.
“You have started intimidating me with boda boda hitmen. Will you get my remaining years added to your after I die?
Days ago, Wetang’ula and Mudavadi, in a local even at DPP’s Renson Ingonga’s home, asked the governor to respect his seniors if he wanted to go far in politics.
Mudavadi said his(Natembeya) tantrums would amount to nothing because the national government is on course.
