Police are yet to get hold of a rogue driver who ran away after crashing a bus full of passengers at Gil Gil area in Nakuru County.
According to State authorities, the bus was filled with a total of 30 passengers when 13 of them were injured and rushed to hospital. KTN’s Ali Manzu then reported how the 13 later succumbed.
Police further said, among the victims, were children traveling back to Thika from a burial ceremony in Kangui Ol Joro Orok in Nyandarua.
There have been increased cases of road crash this year as compared to last year same time, according to a survey by the National Transport and Safety Authority NTSA.
They are linking the accidents to reckless driving, careless overtaking and drunk driving. More causes include drunk walking, riding and failure to using helmets and observing other road safety measures.
Ministry of Transport is in speed to streamlining roads in the country saying, after this process, there will be improved safety on all roads.
Nakuru area has been a hot spot for a long time with the most notable deadly spot being Schangwan where many lives were lost before Roads authority swung into action years later to correct the notorious bends that were the main cause. Since then there has been observed calmness.
