Fireworks as Wamalwa, Baraza Tear Each Other Apart

Sunday, November 19, 2023 -A situation unfolded at a local funeral event in Tongaren Constituency, Bungoma County where a bitter disagreement arose after Former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa took a sharp swipe at the Kenya Kwanza government for failing in its promise to lower the cost of living.

The ex-CS castigated the regime for always looking for a scapegoat in the previous regimes.

“The cost of living is high and Kenyans are hurting yet our friends are saying that this is a global problem and there is nothing they can do about it. Nothing can be further from the truth.

“It is President William Ruto’s problem through high taxes. The Finance Act 2023 doubled the Value Added Tax on fuel,” Wamalwa stated.

And when Kimilili Member of Parliament MP Didmus Baraza of United Democratic Alliance UDA Party grabbed the microphone from Wamalwa, he furiously stated that the former CS had no moral authority to lecture anyone in the current government.

Barasa retorted that President William Ruto is willing to engage all politicians on ways to lower the cost of living except Wamalwa who is known to have unexplained hate on the head of State.

“Eugene Wamalwa you have no gravitas to lecture the government about the cost of living. You were the CS of Defence but did completely nothing,” the MP stated.

The firebrand MP, therefore, challenged Wamalwa to prepare to run for an elective position in Trans Nzoia County in 2027 instead of waiting for free appointments every time a new administration takes space.
