Saturday, April 17, 2021 -Catherine Kalani Gitonga 24 brutally lost her life through the hands of her married Mpango wa Kando.
Though the motive of her killer is yet to be made public, some sections point at a possibility of Catherine having started meddling in the man’s marriage what triggered the angry man to lure her to her death.
Activist Erick Mbungua was among the first persons to scoop the story saying the girl had left her Kasarani house on Monday while in a hurry to meet her married boyfriend Evans Karani 38 at an undisclosed location. She also had assured her house girl that she will be sending her some cash for supper.
“Someone’s daughter has been killed like an animal. Her body parts still missing. Her eyes, her stomach her fingers cut into pieces,” Mbugua reported.
However, all these never turned out positive as Catherine’s lifeless body was later discovered on the same Monday dumped besides an abandoned car that belongs to the boyfriend raising questions than answers.
Parents of the victim alongside friends later went to the General Kago Mortuary in Thika Town where her body had been taken and confirmed she was their daughter.
Her body they found had been badly mutilated, her eyes gauged off, stomach dissected into parts, fingers chopped off as some more body parts chopped off too and some and missing.
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation DCI managed to arrest the suspect who is currently held in police cells awaiting charges.
