Wednesday, April 21, 2021 -Counties passed a wrong Building Bridges Initiate BBI copy. It has now merged.
News reaching Homenews.co.ke desk confirmed that several County Assemblies received and had approved a wrong copy of the BBI Draft Bill, unknowingly.
The revelations were made by the joint Legal Affairs Committee on Tuesday April 20 where they claimed only 13 County Assemblies debated the right document as the rest ignorantly concentrated on something else.
Further, it was revealed that both the Senate and the National house received different documents of the BBI. Whether this was deliberate or by accident , it is hard to tell but experts have told the media that the final document will be certified at the Senate level by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC.
Kenyans on their part have a different feeling with sections now claiming this is another clever scheme to introduce new clauses that can suit the ‘big boys’.
“Sasa mchezo imeanza , this is a scheme to change the document to suite them,” Jackson Ng’ang’a Ndingu remarked.
Some online social media users, however, noted that the Electoral Commission was continuing with its game plan to sabotage the document just the same way one of its staffers o Twitter referred to BBI as a ‘Burning Bridges Initiative’ instead of Building Bridges Initiative.
So far, this desk has now been told that the committee members who are currently divided on what next are thinking on possible ways to harmonise the two copies where there is a mix-up on Clause 13(b) which gives different references.
