Ken Mijungu joined the Gideon Moi owned Tv station on December 1st and he is supposed to start anchoring anytime soon.
Our sources claimed they had seen Mr. Mijungu around the Mombas Road based media house not once what would later be boosted by his post that seemingly was confirming his new job at KTN that went, “Welcome Home,” which is usually the KTN slogan.
He refused to make direct comments when on probe but just said it would be a pleasure working at KTN.
The former NTV news anchor who was sacked during the previous massive firing at the station would, according to well-placed sources, be unveiled as a news anchor and assignment editor. He will also run his own show just like his previous segment The Side Bar.
“He probably doesn’t want to make an official announcement out of respect for his colleagues who were fired from KTN,” a source claimed.
This is happening at the time The Standard Group is still laying off several long serving faces in the station.
Their KTN Managing Editor Ellen Wanjiru, and subeditor Anthony Malesi lost job just three days ago. Kakamega Bureau Chief John Ngoko Atambop also faced the axing.
Mr. Mijungu has been running his own business which concentrate on legal consultancy around the city. He also owns a car hire venture.
Before joining Nation Media Group as a Senior Reporter and anchor, he was at CCTV Africa and Media Max Network station K24. He is a layer by profession.
