Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo engaged in an ugly online spat over DP Ruto’s unending predicaments.
Murkomen was first to point out how his ally Ruto was going through tough times and that much more dark days were still awaiting him.
He was reacting to a situation where Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i was captured receiving the Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta when he touched down through his Airforce Presidential Chopper.
Murkomen ranted that President Uhuru was doing the same things his father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta did to people he hated in government.
He further noted that in the next remaining months, DP William Ruto will be baptized by fire if the current situation on thier relationship is not addressed early.
“The Deputy President Fred Matiangi receiving the President thereafter introduce other Cabinet members. Those of us who didn’t witness the last days of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta ‘will see things’ in the next 22 months,” Muromen ranted on Twitter.
Immediately, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo took him on by sending him to tell Mr. Ruto to start drafting a resignation letter which is, according to him, the only remaining option. “Now Tell The Former Deputy President. Arap.., To Send That Long Pending Letter Of Resignation,” he responded.
He however said, this cannot squarely be blamed on Dr. Matiang’i because he is doing whatever his bosses had instructed him to do and throwing stones at him is not being sincere by those who think he is the problem.
“The DP should have been the one to welcome the president but you know the circumstances they are in and CS Matiang’i was given priority,” the former presidential escort officer stated.
Lawyer Donald Kipkorir also jumped into the discussion saying Ruto had been elbowed out of government however much he still pretends to hang around.
“Across History, Kings and Presidents anoint whom they want as successor. In Saudi Arabia, the King bypassed 3,000 Princes & picked MBS. King David, picked Solomon, child of his Mistress. Jomo Kenyatta anointed Moi. In his actions, Uhuru Kenyatta has showed whom he has cancelled,”
Uhuru was presiding over the Friday cabinet meeting held at Kilaguni Tsavo where the entire cabinet was camping for a daylong retreat expected to deliberate on issues of national interest among them the Building Bridges Initiative BBI report scheduled for release soon.
