Sunday, October 22, 2023 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga has rejected the Bipartisan talks document saying the cost of living must be a key agenda first.
In his Sunday October 22 statement seen by Homenews.Co.ke, Mr. Odinga appeared to revisit the issue of cost of living saying he will only be party to the final recommendations if the outstanding matter of cost of living is also addressed.
“No signing of the bipartisan committee report if it doesn’t have a provision for the reduction of the cost of living,” stated Odinga.
He was saying this in Kajiado County where he attended a church service alongside fellow Azimio leaders among them Kalonzo Musyoka.
Odinga also spoke about the ongoing war in Israel and said Palestinians require to be accorded a permanent residence and full recognition of their rights.
In the statement, Odinga noted further that siding with one party before addressing the root cause will only lead to an escalated war between the two nations.
“There can only be lasting peace along the Gaza Strip if Palestines are accorded permanent residence and recognition of their rights. Siding with one party will only escalate the existing problem” Raila said.
His statement coming just days after the United States of America U.S.A government led by President Joe Biden had indicated its full support of Israel actions in Gaza.
