Thursday, January 26, 2023 –Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga has today renewed his expired passport in the Immigration department.
Odinga marched into the immigration offices accompanied by his aides and was received by top department officials who treated him well on the required services.
The opposition long-serving leader would later express his gratitudes to the officers who served him in the process that took very little time.
In his Thursday January 26 post, Raila met a very friendly reception and noted that this is the way to go when it comes to offering government services.
“My passport expired and today I went down to the immigration department to renew it. I’d like to thank the agency’s friendly and helpful staff for the reception and timely service,” Raila tweeted.
Mr. Odinga’s experience in the government offices could be different from what many Kenyans go through daily.
Kenyans who applied for their passports four to six months ago have been kept waiting with government claiming that it had run out of papers.
This is happening despite the fact that the new Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, recently, promised to look into the matter.
