Wednesday March 17, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto is supporting former Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji’s son Abdul Yusuf Haji for the Senatorial seat.
Taking to his social media platforms on Tuesday March 16 evening, Mr. Ruto who held a daylong meeting with a section of leaders from Garissa at his Karen offices noted that the son to the late Garissa lawmaker is the best fit for the job.
He said it looks good to support him for the position left by his late father so that he can continue with Haji’s legacy.
Ruto apparently hijacked the plans by the ‘Deep State’ to front the brother to DPP Noordin Haji who sources reported was being wooed by KANU Party and Uhuru Kenyattas Kieleweke side.
“Discussed empowerment programmes for the Hustler Nation and agreed to back Abdul Yusuf Haji for Garissa Senator in the upcoming by-election,” Ruto commented.

Dr. Ruto also seized the Karen meeting opportunity to also discuss different empowerment programs that he was planning for his Hustler community.
“Leaders should combine efforts and commit to confronting the challenges facing millions of households in the country. Rather than engaging in divisive politics, they should be visionary and embrace inclusive and broad-based interventions in the economy that will uplift the poor,” Dr. Ruto stated.
Among those who had earlier endorsed the young Haji are Garissa Governor Ali Korane and former National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale. On the list are Garissa clan elders too.
“He has the support of the wider community and is expected to easily win the upcoming by-election,” one of the elders stated.
Haji’s son Abdul was among the Kenyans who volunteered to save scores of Kenyans during the 2013 Nairobi Waste Gate insurgence by the Alshabaab terrorists.
