Tuesday May 11, 2021 -Jubilee Party will have to forward another name to take over from Isaac Mwaura after his seat was declared vacant by Speaker Kenneth Lusaka.
Lusaka made the declaration on Tuesday May 11 following a decision by Jubilee Party to expel Mr. Mwuara for joining DP Ruto’s Camp which is at loggerheads with party leader’s camp.
Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu confirmed last March that Mwaura’s name was nolonger in the register deposited with her.
“Based on the decision of the party as contained in the above documents and in line with Section 14 (5a) of the Political Parties Act 2011, the office has removed the name of Hon. Isaac Mwaura Maigua from the Jubilee Party membership register pending the adoption and ratification of the same by the National Executive Committee (NEC) in accordance with Article 13.1.12 as read with Article 13.4 of the Jubilee party constitution,” the letter signed by the Registrar read in part.
Mwaura’s woes piled further after the political Parties Disputes Tribunal nullified his application to stop his expulsion from the party.
A total of seven nominated senators have since been expelled and will all be facing due process on their way out.
