Saturday, July 22, 2023 –Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition has announced a new date for their protests next week.
Leaders of Azimio led by Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka today, while addressing in parts of Kisumu following outrage on police brutality, said they are not relenting on holding this government to account over excesses.
They stated that they will not call off their protests until when the regime will start listening to the plight of every Kenyan.
“We will be there to ensure that force this government to listen to the people. We know that they intend to arrest and torture us but we will not relent,” Wa Iria stated.
The Azimio led by Kalonzo Musyoka also took issue with the manner in which police were conducting themselves during protests.
“They are under a command structure and they are well-resourced with the arms they need. There is stigmatisation and polarisation accompanied by propaganda that the community is behind the nationwide protests,” the statement from Azimio read.
The opposition brigade compromised Eugene Wamalwa, Kalonzo Musyoka, George Wajackoyah and former Murang’a County Governor Mwangi wa Iria.
