Tuesday, July 18, 2023 –Azimio la Umoja leaders led by Martha Karua now allege that the government had hired private militia to cause chaos against peaceful demonstrators from tomorrow.
Addressing in their press briefing held on Tuesday July 18 in Nairobi, Ms Karua flanked by Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, alleged that the State had armed private individuals with weapons to descent on Azimio supporters across the country.
“The government has entered into a public-private partnership with militia to cripple freedom of assembly and protests. The security withdrawal comes days after William Ruto promised to ‘Safirisha’ Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta,” Martha Karua claimed.
She went on to urge their supporters to defiantly come out in droves and join their anti-State demonstrations to start on Wednesday this week.
“At midday tomorrow, we ask Kenyans to come out of their homes and bang sufurias, pots and pans to signify lack of food. The Sufuria Movement kicks off tomorrow and continues until the battle is won,” she further noted.
The Narc-Kenya boss also made an appeal to all Kenyans of goodwill who have photographic or video evidence of police brutality to share with them so that to file this for future use against the State.
“We further ask Kenyans to resort to citizen journalism and film state offers, including police and politicians who brutalise Kenyans in their course of duty,” added Karua.
On his part, Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka stated that they had gathered proper, accurate and detailed information about a heavily-armed militia gang which will be dispatched with lethal weapons to cause death and destruction.
He claimed that the same killer gang was well-facilitated by the government last week to cause mayhem, loss and deaths in Mlolongo, Emali, Kitengela and parts of Ukambani.
Conspicuously missing in this presser today was Raila Amollo Odinga, their party leader.
