Thursday, February 16, 2023 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party boss Raila Odinga has urged the country to wake up and take to task William Ruto’s regime which he said has failed in its first six months in power.
Addressing supporters outside Jubilee Party headquarters where they had stormed this afternoon, Odinga reiterated the need for every citizen to remain strong and call out President Ruto’s regime for incompetence.
The price of basic commodities, according to Mr Odinga, remains a big challenge amid increasing market taxes collected by the government.
He said the government of the day has refused to hear any cry from outsiders six months after taking power.
Raila added that promises the Kenya Kwanza administration had during campaigns are nolonger part of their leadership agenda.
“We want to ask the people of Kenya to wake up; wake up to the fact that the country is in serious trouble and there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to imagine that things will get better. Extraordinary times require extraordinary action and resolve. We will not relent at all!” he noted.
The fire-spitting Odinga also reminded Ruto that fighting multiparty democracy in this country will terribly fail just like his predecessors tried before but failed.
He said ex-president Daniel Moi who is the teacher to Ruto tried hard to fight many parties in the country but could not go far.
Present at the presser include Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka as well as scores of their supporters.
Odinga was addressing his supporters as Ruto and his deputy, on the other hand, were expressing their concerns on the devastating drought that has led to widespread distress and suffering around the country.
