Thursday, February 9, 2023 –A sniffer dog was captured both on video and photo trying to help identify victims of the historic earthquake that claimed over 20,000 citizens in Turkey recently.
The well-trained dog was helping Samaritans as well as police to rescue those trapped in the rubble after the tremor caused huge damage across the country.

Those who saw the photo commented on the dog saying it had risked its life to help save lives and in one incident it could be seen alerting by looking around for the police to come over and rescue a lady who had been trapped in boulders with her hand protruding outside.
In a report filed by DW, on Thursday February 9 evening, the death toll from the earthquakes that struck both Turkey and Syria earlier this week rose to more than 20,000 on Thursday, as rescuers continued to scramble for survivors trapped beneath the rubble in freezing winter conditions.

The quake was one of the deadliest across the world in more than a decade, with more than 17,134 confirmed deaths in Turkey and another 3,162 in Syria.
